President Volodymyr Zelensky is confident that Ukraine will manage to maintain support from the United States and Europe in its struggle against Russian aggression. He expressed this in an interview with Sky TG24, emphasizing that any pauses and delays in aid to Ukraine could benefit the aggressor.
"The United States is one of the leaders in providing assistance and support to Ukraine in defending democracy. I feel there is support in the United States. I know there is 100% support from the White House, and there is significant support in Congress – it is truly powerful, bipartisan support. The United States did not let us down during a very challenging time. There were various voices, as you know, among representatives of the Republican Party. But in the majority, both Democrats and Republicans supported Ukraine," emphasized Volodymyr Zelensky.
The President is convinced that Russia is weaker today than at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Therefore, taking a pause in supporting our country or somehow freezing the conflict again would give Russia an opportunity to regroup and assist the aggressor.
"It's not about not helping Ukraine and complicating our offensive or defensive actions. No. Any pauses today are exclusively assistance to the Russian Federation," said the Head of State.
According to him, today, for Ukrainians, just like for the societies of other countries that have supported us all this time, it is essential to have confidence in the leaders of these states.
Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that he is personally grateful to the President of the United States and the leaders of almost all European countries who are standing with Ukraine today.
"We will do everything not to lose this support," he stated.
Furthermore, the Head of State underscored that today, the defense of human rights and lives in Ukraine is also the defense of human rights and lives in other countries, primarily in European countries and the United States. Because if Russia's aggression in Ukraine is not stopped, it will spread worldwide.
"And then the war will be expensive. Not just in terms of money, but primarily in terms of human losses, independence, and freedom," emphasized Volodymyr Zelensky.
