Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed laws abolishing taxes and customs duties on the import of goods necessary for the production or repair of mechanized demining machines, as well as energy equipment.
This information comes from bills No. 11259 and No. 11258.
According to the documents, the import of electronic warfare equipment, tactical military headphones, and certain components for the production and repair of demining machines have been exempted from taxes and customs duties.
The bills also include provisions for the exemption of customs duties and VAT on the import of energy equipment into Ukraine, including:
- Electricity generator equipment;
- Equipment for wind and solar generation;
- Batteries (except for small capacity batteries).
Additionally, the bills contain a provision exempting the import of equipment for producing counter-technical intelligence measures from taxes and customs duties.
The laws will come into effect on July 27, but the Cabinet of Ministers will have a month to develop the regulatory framework necessary for their implementation. Only after this will it be possible to import equipment into Ukraine without customs duties and VAT.
