The American company Westinghouse has supported Ukraine's plans to expand its nuclear energy capabilities by constructing additional power generation units.

This was reported by the company’s press service.

"We support these aspirations and stand ready to provide Ukraine and our long-term partner NNEGC Energoatom with the assistance needed to deliver on this ambitious plan. We remain proud of our partnership with NNEGC Energoatom and look forward to helping develop more safe nuclear power for Ukraine," the company stated.

It is worth noting that this week, the Ukrainian Parliament is expected to approve the draft law on completing the construction of units #3 and #4 of the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant. The decision to complete the blocks was made by the Ukrainian government in April 2024. Currently, block #3 is 80% complete, while block #4 is 25% complete.
