Military expert Israel Defense Forces officer Yigal Levin expressed his opinion on the strike in Makiivka and spoke about the absurdity of the Russian Federation military management.
"The strike on Makiivka, where the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed several hundred mobilized with one blow, this is exactly the situation that I wrote about in the first days of the announcement of mobilization in the Russian Federation - that "the flesh is weak", and in the confrontation between the GMLRS missile and the mobilized with a probability of 99.99% the rocket will win.
This is not the first such blow, but it became resonant, since, in one fell swoop, the Ukrainians destroyed the enemy battalion. However, even dozens of liquidated is also an excellent indicator, but hundreds! This already points to a deeper problem.
The Russians are not able to quarter these masses of mobilized meat. Everything that is located within 50-80 km from the front line (the deployment zone is 2-10 km from the front) is under the fire control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. You can destroy both the warehouse and the location, which is chock-full of meat.
Oh, and command posts. But if the Russian commanders, after constant strikes on these very command posts, simply run beyond 100 km from the front line and controlled the troops by "telephone", as if it were the First World War, then what should the RF Armed Forces do with these soldiers? How to house them?
How to quarter them, organize and ensure their deployment in battle formations? The answer is simple - no way. As long as the United States continues to supply GMLRS missiles to Ukraine, there is simply no such opportunity for the RF Armed Forces. There were already such attacks in Makiivka before the strike, and they will continue.
How, then, do the Russians succeed in advancing under Bakhmut? Everything is simple. Donetsk (a huge human shield) is, in fact, not just a logistical hub, but also a colossal location where militants, Wagnerites, and mobilized of all categories are based.
Plus prisoners. That is, Ukrainians will burn 50% of those brought in, and the other 50%, which are organized in assault groups of 20-25 people each, will continue their participation in Prigozhin's meat waves. The good news here is that prisoners are also finite, as is the margin of safety of the Wagnerites.
They are not eternal and not infinite. Capturing 5-10 km of the steppe in half a year of hostilities while losing tens of thousands (potentially over a hundred), is not just a dubious "success", it is a receipt for its complete military impotence, bloody absurdity and utter mediocrity," said Igal Levin
