The formula for peace proposed by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy was discussed during a meeting between Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier and First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko.

The meeting took place in Brasília, the capital of Brazil, where Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Yuliia Svyrydenko arrived at the head of their national delegations to attend the inauguration ceremony of President of Brazil Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

“No country and no people strive for peace as much as Ukraine and the Ukrainian people do. But it must be peace on Ukrainian terms. A fair peace. This formula was proposed by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. And we are convinced that through joint efforts of all free democratic countries of the world, it is not only possible, but must be implemented.

Ukraine greatly appreciates the extremely powerful assistance that Germany has provided us during these difficult months of russia’s full-scale invasion. And we are convinced that Germany is able to assume the role of a leader in consolidating European countries around Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s peace formula,” Yuliia Svyrydenko said.

In turn, Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier assured the First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy of Ukraine of further unconditional support for our state, territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. As it was noted, Germany will do everything in its power to achieve peace and stability in Europe.

To recap, the peace formula was presented by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his speech at the opening of the G20 Summit in Indonesia on November 15, 2022. The formula has specific 10 points:

Radiation and nuclear safety. It provides, in particular, for the protection of Ukraine from nuclear blackmail by russia;

Food security. The countries of the world must consolidate to overcome the food crisis, food must be delivered to the countries where it is needed without obstruction;

Energy security. Provides for the introduction of a price cap on russian energy resources;

Release of all prisoners and deportees;

Implementation of the UN Charter and restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and the world order. russia must reaffirm the territorial integrity of Ukraine within the framework of the relevant UN General Assembly resolutions;

Withdrawal of russian troops and cessation of hostilities. Ukraine must regain control over all its territories within internationally recognized borders;

Justice. Compensation for the damage caused to Ukraine and punishment of those responsible for unleashing the war;

Restoration and protection of nature. Creation of a platform for assessing the environmental damage caused by the war, and a set of restoration measures;

Preventing escalation in the future. Fixing key elements of the post-war security architecture in the Euro-Atlantic space, including guarantees for Ukraine;

Confirmation of the end of the war.

Ukraine also initiates a global peace summit. Such a proposal was voiced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a conversation with US President Joe Biden.
