Partners are ready to transfer multi-role fighters F-16 to Ukraine. However, Ukraine needs to complete the preparatory work, said Yuriy Ihnat, the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Air Force, during a telethon.
"Partners are ready to provide us with equipment. The question is whether everything is ready for it to work in Ukraine," he said.
Ihnat emphasized that for the transfer of F-16s, pilots, infrastructure, engineers, and "other factors that are less talked about" must be prepared.
"Multi-role aircraft are aviation complexes. It is necessary to approach comprehensively the issue of their placement in Ukraine, adoption into service, and combat use. Of course, one could consider various statements by European leaders that we are ready to transfer aircraft to you. Well, 'ready to transfer' means for them to be territorially located with us. This is not the option Ukraine needs. We need them to strike the occupier from the air," added the spokesperson.
