President Volodymyr Zelensky has dismissed Oleksiy Danilov from the position of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
This was reported in the decree of the head of state.
"The decree states: 'To dismiss Oleksiy Myacheslavovych Danilov from the position of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.'"
At the same time, Alexander Litvinenko has been appointed as the new Secretary of the NSDC.
"The decree further states: 'To appoint Olexander Valeriyovych Litvinenko as Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine,'" according to decree No. 188/2024.
Prior to this appointment, Zelensky dismissed Litvinenko from the position of head of the Foreign Intelligence Service.
Olexander Litvinenko graduated from the Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS) in the United Kingdom in 2013. In 2009, he graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv with a degree in law. In 1994, he graduated from the Institute of Cryptography, Communications, and Informatics of the Federal Security Service (FSK) Academy of the Russian Federation with a specialization in applied mathematics.
Litvinenko has been the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service since July 23, 2021. Prior to this, from April 4, 2014, to August 13, 2019, he served as the deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.
