Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the designation of June 11 as the Day of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, noting that Ukraine was the first country in the world to create such a branch of service and that Ukrainians have demonstrated how technology, creativity, and courage can change the nature of warfare.

“Just one year after the creation of the Unmanned Systems Forces grouping, Russian targets of various levels worth nearly $40 billion have already been struck. The Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces are truly a model for many other armies. In recent months, we are especially grateful for the mid-strikes: Russian military logistics throughout the entire depth of the temporarily occupied territories are now accessible to Ukrainian drones. Russia’s border regions are also feeling our impact,” he said in his evening video address.

Zelensky thanked the servicemen and all units of Ukraine’s Defense and Security Forces that “jointly and effectively carry out exactly the strikes that are needed.”

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi and Chief of the General Staff Andrii Hnatov briefed President Zelensky on the situation along key sections of the front.

“I received a report from Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi and Chief of the General Staff Andrii Hnatov regarding the frontline situation and key operational directions. Of course, we discussed in detail the mid-strikes and deep-strikes currently being carried out. Our plan of Ukrainian long-range sanctions is being implemented with complete precision,” he said.

The President also recalled that Ukrainian FP-5 Flamingo missiles struck a military-industrial facility in Cheboksary, located approximately 900 kilometers from Ukraine.
