A military expert told why the Donetsk direction is important for the Russians.
The Russian occupiers continue their attempts to seize the Donetsk region and enter its administrative borders. The head of Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, is so interested in this goal.
In a commentary to Channel 24, military expert Oleg Zhdanov told what caused such an interest in capturing the region by the head of the Wagnerites.
Zhdanov spoke about the connection between politics and economics. So, he noted that there is a water intake near Sloviansk, which the enemy needs to solve problems with drinking water in Donetsk. In addition, Sloviansk and Kramatorsk are the centers of the Yuzovsky shale gas field. It is not only highly rated. Russia's main efforts are focused on attempts to capture the Donetsk region within the administrative border completely.
