The Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe has manufactured pipes for offshore operations for the first time and delivered them to a customer in Turkey.

According to the company’s press service, the Turkish customer uses this product in the South Akçakoca Sub-Basin (SASB) gas field project, located directly in the Black Sea. The field consists of several gas deposits in shallow waters, so Interpipe’s pipes are laid underwater.

For these conditions, Interpipe produced pump-compressor pipes with a premium UPJ-M connection for the customer. This connection ensures high gas tightness and is a proprietary development of the company.

“Turkey is currently actively developing offshore gas fields in the Black Sea. However, the extraction conditions are specific — it takes place in shallow waters, so enhanced gas tightness is required, which premium connections can provide. Although this is Interpipe’s first experience using pump-compressor pipes underwater, the customer’s experience has been positive. The product is already in use, and pipe lowering operations were successful. This is a boost for participation in similar projects in the future,” said Artem Artemov, Interpipe’s Sales Director for the Middle East, Asia, and Africa markets.

INTERPIPE is a Ukrainian industrial company, a manufacturer of steel pipes and railway products. The company’s products are supplied to more than 50 countries worldwide through a network of sales offices located in key markets of the Middle East, North America, and Europe. In 2024, INTERPIPE sold 511 thousand tons of pipe products and 115 thousand tons of railway products. Railway product sales are conducted under the KLW brand.

The total number of INTERPIPE employees is about 9,500. The number of our employees serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other security forces is around 1,070.
