High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, arrived in Odessa on September 30 and recorded a video from the Transfiguration Cathedral, which was destroyed by the Russians during the shelling on July 23. He announced this on Twitter.
"Odessa is a beautiful historical city. It should be in the headlines for its vibrant culture and spirit. Instead, in the news, this city is mentioned as a frequent target of Putin's war. The EU supports the stabilization of places affected by Russia's barbaric destruction," said Borrell.
He added that "Ukraine has every right to defend itself against Russian aggression and regain full control over its territory. Borrell promised that the EU would support Ukraine "as much as needed.
