The head of Ukrainian intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, expressed his conviction that the Russian Federation benefits most from a large-scale leak of US secret documents.
He said in an interview with ABC News that Russia "is the sole beneficiary of this."
"We will receive a final answer only after the completion of the investigation ⦠We have contact with the relevant services in the United States - and literally from the first hour we started talking," Budanov said.
He is convinced that there is "no risk" that this story will damage relations between Ukraine and the United States. Also, the head of intelligence does not expect a significant impact of data leakage in the course of the war and noted that the information war is not something new.
"If there is a problem, it will be solved. If there is no problem, even better. This will not be able to affect the real results of the offensive operation," he said.
According to Budanov, "everyone will see and feel the results of the counteroffensive" soon. He also added that the success of this offensive operation is essential not only for Ukrainians, but also for Western partners, because "without victories, sooner or later the question will arise whether it is worth continuing to support Ukraine."
