Massive information and psychological operations by Russian intelligence services targeting Ukraine have been detected in Poland, the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces reported, noting that the goal of these actions is to spread fear among Polish society and create a sense of threat linked to the presence of Ukrainian refugees in the country.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces.
According to the General Staff, Russia is conducting campaigns aimed at undermining positive Polish-Ukrainian relations and stoking anti-Ukrainian sentiments. Such materials are actively disseminated through online portals and social media, where individuals spread hostile messages against Ukraine. The rise in hostile sentiments is especially noticeable in regions hosting transit points for weapons and humanitarian aid to Kyiv.
The statement emphasizes that the actions of Russian intelligence services are intended to sow fear and distrust among Poles. In the Russian media space, the General Staff notes, a false narrative is being created suggesting that the war against Ukraine supposedly serves Polish interests, portraying Poles as seeking revenge for Volhynia. These manipulations are designed to make it appear that Ukrainians pose a greater threat to Poland than Russia itself.
The Polish General Staff urged citizens not to succumb to such provocations and not to respond to emotional appeals, as they are artificially created and do not reflect real events. The statement stressed that these subversive campaigns are part of coordinated actions by Russian intelligence services and have no relation to the Ukrainian people.
The Polish Armed Forces also reminded the public of the importance of clearly distinguishing the aggressor from the victim. According to the statement, Russia is the aggressor, and any attempts to sow discord between Poland and Ukraine only serve to perpetuate Russian aggression.
