Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense is launching the TrophyLab platform, providing partners from around the world with access to information on Russian weapons technologies.
The announcement was made by Ukraine’s Minister of Defense, Mykhailo Fedorov, on Telegram.
“Every piece of Russian equipment captured on the battlefield is more than just a trophy. It is knowledge about how the enemy’s weapons work. Since the start of the full-scale war, Ukrainian military personnel, scientific institutions, and research centers have been studying captured equipment. They analyze components, technological solutions, and vulnerabilities in order to develop effective countermeasures more quickly. Now this knowledge is being made available to those working to strengthen defense capabilities,” Fedorov said.
The Ministry of Defense is launching TrophyLab, a platform that provides verified users with access to information about modern Russian weapons.
“Ukraine will provide access to Russian technologies for our partners. Companies, research centers, and governments of the free world will be able to study Russian missiles and other weapons systems in detail. This will help identify effective countermeasures more quickly and strengthen our joint efforts toward Ukraine’s victory. We believe that knowledge about enemy technologies should not remain closed. It should serve those who are building defenses,” Fedorov emphasized.
The platform provides access to research results on captured equipment for:
- Ukrainian defense technology manufacturers;
- Military units;
- Scientific institutions;
- International partners assisting Ukraine.
According to Fedorov, users will gain access to technical documentation, research findings, and analytical materials on modern Russian weapons systems.
The platform also allows users to submit requests for physical examination of captured equipment samples.
Several formats of interaction are available, ranging from non-destructive inspection to testing that involves complete disassembly or destruction of the item.
Fedorov noted that this enables engineers to test their own solutions on actual enemy equipment and significantly shorten the development cycle for countermeasure technologies.
“Russia is using its entire arsenal against Ukraine. We are not only repelling these attacks—we are dismantling these weapons down to the last screw. What was intended to be their secret advantage is becoming open information for those defending democracy. The more Russia uses its weapons, the more the world learns how to stop them,” Fedorov said.
Access to the platform is available through an online application process.
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko stated on Telegram that access to the catalog can be granted to Ukrainian research institutions, military units of the Defense Forces, Ukrainian defense technology manufacturers, government agencies, defense ministries of partner countries, and foreign defense companies from partner states that meet the Ministry of Defense’s requirements. Through the platform, researchers can access a catalog of blueprints, technical specifications, and analysis results related to Russian weaponry.
TrophyLab was created by Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense as an official government portal. It consolidates data from units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, the Main Intelligence Directorate, the Security Service of Ukraine, and specialized research institutions. The platform operates in close cooperation with security and defense sector agencies that hold captured military equipment.
