Supplying weapons to Ukraine will enable achieving a balance of power on the ground.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni made this statement, as reported by Il Fatto Quotidiano.
"For Ukraine, contrary to the opinion of those who say we shouldn't send weapons because it will lead to escalation, I believe everything is going exactly the opposite way," she said.
According to Meloni, Ukraine can achieve a diplomatic resolution to the conflict with Russia only in one scenario.
"The only chance for Ukraine to achieve a diplomatic solution is to achieve a balance of power on the ground, and if we did what those who say we shouldn't support Ukraine proposed, we would get not peace but invasion, a war closer to home," emphasized the Italian Prime Minister.
