Russian forces launched another combined missile strike on Kyiv, firing approximately 10 ballistic missiles at the city.
This was reported by Serhiy Popko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.
According to his information, cruise missiles (potentially Kh-101) were launched around 3 a.m. from Tu-95MS strategic bombers in the Saratov region of Russia. These missiles approached Kyiv after complex maneuvers from the southern direction.
At the same time, as the cruise missiles neared the capital, the Russian forces also launched KN-24/Iskander-M ballistic missiles at Kyiv and its suburbs. Additionally, one attack drone was involved.
"Thanks to the efforts and resources of air defense, more than a dozen cruise missiles, about ten ballistic missiles, and the attack drone were destroyed in the airspace over the capital. An incredibly large number of ballistic missiles were launched simultaneously," Popko noted.
He added that missile debris fell in the Holosiivskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Dniprovskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts of the city.
Preliminary reports indicate that vehicles caught fire and non-residential buildings were damaged. The data on damage and casualties is being clarified.
