NAK Naftogaz of Ukraine has signed a contract for the supply of approximately 100 million cubic meters of liquefied natural gas (LNG) with the Polish company ORLEN. The fuel will come from a batch of American LNG.
This was reported by the press service of NAK.
This is already the second fuel supply contract signed under the memorandum of understanding between the companies. The first one also envisaged the supply of 100 million cubic meters of LNG.
After regasification, the gas will be transported to the Polish-Ukrainian border.
The gas will be delivered to Ukraine in April. It will be used to create a strategic fuel reserve for the next heating season, according to the press service of NAK.
Recall that NAK "Naftogaz of Ukraine" and the Polish state-owned company ORLEN signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of liquefied natural gas (LNG). Under the memorandum of cooperation, Naftogaz and ORLEN also signed a contract for the supply of approximately 100 million cubic meters of gas. The gas will come from a batch of liquefied natural gas, which will be delivered to the terminal in Klaipeda (Lithuania).
"Ensuring stable gas supply remains our top priority. Cooperation with ORLEN allows Ukraine to expand its LNG import capabilities and enhance energy security. We continue to work on diversifying supply sources to ensure the reliability and availability of gas for the country. This is especially important in the context of constant Russian attacks on our gas infrastructure," said the head of the Naftogaz Group, Roman Chumak.
