Spokesperson for the Southern Ukrainian Defense Forces Colonel Natalia Humeniuk described how the Russian army attempts to conduct its raids on the Dniepr River using boats but suffers significant losses.
Natalia Humeniuk provided her comments during a live broadcast on the United News telethon on the morning of March 14, 2024.
"They try to maneuver on boats among the islands located at the mouth of the Dniepr, where they set up their observation posts and attempt to deliver ammunition to them. However, this is why our daily reports include destroyed enemy boats, ranging from two to four. And over the past day, the occupiers have lost four boats as well," said the spokesperson for the Southern Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to her, the enemy has long been advancing the narrative of returning to the right bank of the Dnipro.
"And this has especially intensified with the approach of the quasi-election date, which they are also trying to accompany with staged landings on the right bank," Natalia Humeniuk noted.
She recounted that recently the Russian forces attempted to land on the right bank of the Dnipro – a reconnaissance raid, so to speak.
"So they managed to make one such attempt. It was an attempt by a sabotage-reconnaissance group on a boat to approach the right bank in the area of the Antonivsky Bridge under our intense fire. I remind you that the right bank is higher than the left, and therefore artillery fire is more successful in this direction. They were forced to retreat, losing practically a quarter of their forces and assets," said the spokesperson for the Southern Ukrainian Defense Forces.
