In the Russian army, after losing more than a dozen aircraft recently, they are seeking alternative methods for reconnaissance, including deploying more drones. This was reported by the head of the Joint Press Center of the Operational Command "South" Natalia Humeniuk during the telethon "United News".
"As of today, they (the Russian forces) have intensified their unmanned reconnaissance, and over the past few days, we have observed increased activity of such unmanned aerial vehicles in our area of responsibility, including along the contact line and somewhat deeper," the spokesperson said.
According to Humeniuk, Ukrainian military forces have recorded the flight of over 100-130 reconnaissance drones of the Russian Federation within a day, both along the contact line and somewhat deeper into the territory.
"So, the enemy is trying to compensate with quantity, if not quality," the spokesperson noted.
At the same time, she added, the tactical aviation aircraft of the Russian Federation, which previously targeted guided air bombs, are now "staying away over the waters of the Black and Azov Seas and also serve for gathering information from there."
