Using the forces and means of the air defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, all strike drones launched by Russian forces for attacks on the territory of Ukraine were destroyed tonight.
This was reported by the Telegram channel of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The military command clarified that in total, the Russian forces used 10 kamikaze drones of the Shahed type for the latest aerial strike.
"Last night, Russian forces once again attacked Ukraine, employing 10 UAVs of the 'Shahed' type. With the forces and means of air defense of Ukraine, all the strike UAVs were destroyed," the statement from the General Staff reads.
Later, Air Force Commander Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk explained that the Russian forces attacked the territory of Ukraine not only with Shahed drones but also with missiles.
He mentioned that the Russian forces Russia launched 2 guided anti-aircraft missiles S-300/S-400 from the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation towards the Kharkiv region. Additionally, 10 strike drones were launched from the occupied territory of Crimea.
"As a result of the combat operations carried out by the mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, all ten strike UAVs were destroyed within the territories of the Odessa, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions," Oleshchuk stated.
