Over the past year, 2,290 ships departed from Ukrainian Black Sea ports, transporting 63 million tons of cargo.
This was reported by U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink on social media platform X.
"In just one year today, 2,290 ships have departed Ukraine’s Black Sea ports carrying 63 million tons of cargo, including grain, to feed the world and support Ukraine’s economy — a tremendous accomplishment in the face of Russia’s illegal invasion," wrote the U.S. Ambassador.
It was also reported that on August 10, 2023, Ukraine announced new temporary routes for commercial vessels traveling to/from Ukrainian Black Sea ports.
These routes were primarily used for the departure of civilian ships from Ukrainian ports such as Chornomorsk, Odessa, and Pivdennyi since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022.
