Military analyst Colonel Petro Chernyk emphasized in a comment to the Military Media Center that the S-400 "Triumf" is the most advanced Russian air defense system.
"Destroying them in the biggest possible numbers would contribute to ensuring that potential mass missile strikes achieve their targets," said Petro Chernyk
He added that there is currently no other philosophy for countering the adversary on the Crimean Peninsula apart from frequent missile strikes.
Furthermore, the analyst noted that neutralizing such state-of-the-art weaponry is "very prestigious."
"If it is damaged or destroyed, it means that the Russians do not have the intellectual capacity to produce competitive weapons of such caliber," Chernyk noted
According to reports from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, an explosion occurred near the village of Olenivka in the temporarily occupied Crimea on Wednesday, which destroyed the Russian S-400 "Triumf" long-range and medium-range air defense system. The explosion resulted in the complete destruction of the installation itself, the missiles installed on it, and a staff.
