Poland lifts the ban on railway communication with Ukraine from October 01. This was announced by inPoland with reference to the order of the Polish government.
The running of trains between Ukraine and Poland stopped on March 15, 2020, due to the measures introduced to prevent coronavirus spread. The resumption of the railway service was planned for early June 2021 but was postponed several times to later dates.
If the resolution is adopted, five trains will start running from Ukraine to Poland at once:
- Kyiv - Przemysl
- Odessa - Przemysl
- Kyiv - Warsaw
- Lviv - Wroclaw
- Kyiv - Wroclaw (direct)
Poland has retained a ban only on railway communication with Belarus.
In June, Ukrzaliznytsia resumed railway communication with Hungary, Slovakia, and Austria, which was also temporarily suspended due to quarantine.
