The azerbaijani-american political analyst Ramis Yunus explained why Lukashenko does not want to fight against Ukraine

Aleksandr Lukashenko found himself in a difficult situation, dictator Putin almost completely controls him after the last elections in Belarus.

The self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Oleksandr Lukashenko, literally found himself under the control of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. However, Lukashenko continues to resist so as not to fight directly with Ukraine. American political scientist Ramis Yunus said this in a commentary on Channel 24.

The political scientist emphasized that Lukashenko could have quietly left after the elections in Belarus two years ago.

"If he had conceded defeat in the elections, then the situation could be completely different in Belarus and Lukashenko. Now he is "on the hook" of Putin. Like Putin, he is "on the hook" in the West after February 24," Yunus said.

The expert emphasized that Putin wants to use the Belarusian territory and army for a war against Ukraine.

"Lukashenko understands that if Belarus does go to war, he will fly out of his chair even faster than Putin. Civilian Belarusians do not want to fight, just like the military. If these forces unite, then Lukashenko's power may come to an end. If the military does not want to fight and go against him, then the people will come out too. They haven't disappeared anywhere in the last three years. 30-40 thousand have been in prisons, and several tens of thousands have gone abroad. And the others are still at home. That's why Lukashenko is pushing as hard as he can. He is ready to fulfill Putin's various whims but does not want to enter the war directly," Yunus summarized.
