The Russian military leadership has replaced the commander who was overseeing the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region, appointing General Mikhail Teplinsky to the position. Such appointments are typically made when the occupiers believe it's necessary to change tactics and strategy.
According to Natalia Humeniuk, the spokesperson for the Unified Coordination Press Center of the Southern Ukraine Defense Forces, these actions by the occupiers indicate that the previous commander did not meet their expectations regarding the developments on the Ukrainian left bank.
"The Zaporizhzhia direction has sagged quite significantly in their understanding: the dragon's teeth did not stop the pressure from the Defense Forces. The Kherson direction continues its counter-battery struggle and achieves rather convincing results," Humeniuk stated.
She also explained that Moscow usually changes the commander before making important military decisions on the front. Ukrainian defenders, on their part, create all conditions for the adversary to make such a decision as difficult as possible.

Furthermore, the UK Ministry of Defense recently reported that the appointment of a new commander by the occupiers on the Kherson front, General Colonel Mykhailo Tepytskyi, indicates an increased pressure on the occupiers' groups in the south by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Earlier, reports of the new "rotation" of Russian generals on the Kherson front were released in a report by the Institute for the Study of War. According to the authors, Russia likely replaced General Colonel Oleg Makarevich, who was in charge of the "Dnipro" group, with the Commander of the Airborne Forces, General Colonel Mikhail Teplinsky. This information was later confirmed by Russian media.
