Russian attacks continue across multiple Ukrainian regions on June 15-16
Donetsk Region:
On June 15, Russian forces killed six residents in the Donetsk region, according to Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration. The fatalities included three people in Bahatyr, two in Pokrovsk, and one in Kostiantynivka. Additionally, four individuals were wounded in these attacks. Filashkin noted that the overall Russian-inflicted casualties in Donetsk region stand at 3,268 killed and 7,309 injured, not including the cities of Mariupol and Volnovakha.
Dnipropetrovsk Region:
The Nikopol district of Dnipropetrovsk region experienced sustained Russian attacks from the evening of June 14 into the morning of June 15. Serhiy Lysak, head of the regional military administration, reported that Russian forces shelled several communities including Nikopol, Myrivska, Pokrovska, and Marhanets using artillery and FPV drones. Among the damages, an industrial enterprise was hit. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries reported.
Sumy Region:
Between the morning of June 15 and the morning of June 16, Russian forces launched 95 strikes across 34 settlements in 10 territorial communities within the Sumy region. The Sumy Regional Military Administration highlighted that the highest concentration of attacks occurred in the Sumy district. Russian forces used a combination of weapons including 35 VOG grenades dropped from drones, 10 guided aerial bombs, and 35 strikes with multiple rocket launchers (MRLs), alongside various unmanned aerial vehicles. Damage was reported to non-residential premises, a residential house, and several private cars in the Sumy community, as well as a private home in the Velykopysarivska community.
Kharkiv Region:
Two settlements in Kharkiv region were hit by Russian strikes over the past day, resulting in injuries to three women aged 71, 62, and 27 in Kupiansk. Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, confirmed the attacks involved three guided aerial bombs and two unidentified drones. In Kupiansk, the shelling damaged 10 private houses, outbuildings, two cars, and a garage. On the military front, Russian forces conducted multiple offensive operations near Vovchansk, Starytsia, Kamianka, and Dovhenke, as well as 11 attacks near Kupiansk, all of which were repelled by Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Kyiv Region:
In the Obukhiv district of Kyiv region, a Russian drone strike damaged four private houses, a car, and outbuildings during a nighttime attack. Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, reported that a 60-year-old man sustained minor injuries with cuts to his arm and face but did not require hospitalization. Air defense units actively intercepted enemy drones during the attack. Authorities have pledged full support and assistance to affected homeowners and are coordinating with local and international partners to address the aftermath.
