In Odessa, 19 landmarks were damaged as a result of the shelling of the city center. The historic center of Odessa is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

This was reported by Odessa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov on Telegram.

The Bristol Hotel building suffered significant destruction, the full extent of which has yet to be determined. According to the mayor, it is one of the most striking architectural structures in the central part of the city.

"As a result of the powerful blast wave, nearby historic buildings were affected. 19 cultural heritage landmarks sustained varying degrees of damage," Trukhanov stated.

The main damages include shattered windowpanes and displaced wooden fittings. Among the affected sites are two landmarks of national significance—the Philharmonic Hall (New Exchange) and the Vuchini House (19 Italiiska Street)—as well as two museums: the Museum of Western and Eastern Art and a branch of the Literary Museum (Sicard House).

Stained glass and authentic wooden fittings in large arched windows were significantly damaged in the buildings of the Union of Architects of Ukraine and Porto-Franco Bank.

According to Trukhanov, the most valuable of the damaged buildings is the Philharmonic Hall (Exchange Market). Since 2023, the Philharmonic Hall has been under enhanced UNESCO protection.
