Russian troops have significantly increased the use of FPV drones in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions. Vadym Mysnyk, spokesperson for the Operational Tactical Group Siversk, reported this during the national telethon United News.
"The situation is operationally tense but fully controlled by the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The enemy consistently maintains their tactics, with daily shelling of the border areas and attacks deeper into these regions. They use all available weaponry, including artillery of various calibers. Recently, we have observed a significant increase in the use of FPV drones and strike UAVs by the enemy. In recent days, they have also used aviation for shelling with unguided air rockets. This morning, we received information that guided bombs were used as well," Mysnyk said.
According to him, the rotations and movements of Russian troops depend on their actions in other directions. Their military presence at the border of Chernihiv and Sumy regions is constant.
"We monitor their combat unit movements, other cover means, artillery, etc., so we are aware of their movements and build our defense system accordingly to prevent the enemy from advancing further into our territory," added the spokesperson for the Operational Tactical Group Siversk.
Mysnyk noted that reconnaissance and potential sabotage are the main tasks of reconnaissance groups. They primarily conduct reconnaissance, checking the state of our defenses and looking for pathways.
"We have always known that special forces operate opposite the Sumy and Chernihiv regions. We use all means available from anti-sabotage groups," the representative of the Operational Tactical Group Siversk shared.
He also mentioned that reconnaissance drones are constantly used, but the Ukrainian army manages to shoot them down.
