Serbian Air Serbia has canceled all Moscow-Belgrade flights. Passengers who purchased tickets began to receive notifications of flight cancellations.

This was reported by the Center for Transport Strategies (CTS).

Earlier, the Serbian carrier doubled the number of direct flights from Moscow to Belgrade - up to 15 per week.

Serbia is not a member of the EU and has refused to impose sanctions on Russia, and its planes are free to cross EU airspace. This made the Balkan country the only European air corridor that remained open to the Russians.

A wave of outrage over earnings on these flights has prompted the Serbian president to say that Air Serbia will reduce the number of flights to Russia amid Western sanctions on Russia and pressure from the European community, returning them to their previous levels. But the move has also been criticized for enriching millions of Ukrainians.

According to the CTS, on Wednesday, March 16, it was impossible to buy a ticket for Moscow flights on the website of the Serbian carrier.

It will be recalled that after EU countries closed the airspace for planes owned by Russian companies and even individuals, the Russians used Air Serbia, which is mostly state-owned, to fly to Europe.
