Director of the information consulting company Defense Express, Serhiy Zgurets, noted that the effectiveness of shooting down Russian missiles depends on the efficiency of detection tools.

He said this on the Espresso TV channel.

"Kalibrs and X-69 are cruise missiles that fly at speeds that allow them to be destroyed by a significant number of air defense systems. There are questions about detecting these missiles because they fly at lower altitudes with terrain following. This allows the enemy to plan deceptive flight paths for missiles in areas where they are sometimes difficult to detect. The effectiveness of shooting down these missiles depends primarily on the effectiveness of detection tools, namely radar systems of one purpose or another," Zgurets explained.

According to the military expert, if the number of destroyed missiles of the Kalibr and X-69 types increases, it means that the density of the radar field has improved.

"That is, detecting these missiles, and then it's a matter of technology. Because these missiles are indeed destroyed by a significant number of air defense systems, unlike missiles of the Kinzhal type, which have hypersonic speeds on certain segments of the trajectory. And this allows them to be destroyed only by a limited range of air defense systems, including the Patriot and SAMP/T complexes. We see that the dynamics and quality of the work of Ukraine's air defense remain quite high, indicating that missiles continue to be intercepted by Patriot complexes and other air defense systems," Zgurets pointed out.
