South Korean President Moon Jae-in has announced that South Korea will provide Ukraine with $2.3 billion in financial assistance for reconstruction, starting from 2025.
According to Yonhap news agency, President Moon made this announcement during the G20 summit in New Delhi. South Korea plans to provide an initial $300 million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine in 2024, followed by the remaining $2 billion in the form of long-term loans with low interest rates through the Economic Development Cooperation Fund, beginning in 2025.
"This will demonstrate our responsible role as a leading global state in providing assistance for the restoration of peace in Ukraine and lay the foundation for our full participation in Ukraine's future recovery," said a representative of the South Korean president
