The number of deaths from the Russian military strike on Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region has risen to 11, with 44 people reported injured.
According to the Office of the Prosecutor General reported this information.
The investigation indicates that at 11:05 AM on Friday, August 9, the Russian army likely carried out an aerial strike on Kostiantynivka, hitting a local shopping center with food and household goods stores.
"As a result of the enemy attack, 11 people have died. At least 44 people have sustained injuries of varying degrees of severity. They are receiving urgent medical assistance," the OGP informed.
The Russian strike caused damage to commercial premises, residential buildings, and vehicles in the city.
Law enforcement officers and rescuers are working at the scene, and debris removal is ongoing. The clarification of the consequences of the strike and the number of affected individuals is not yet complete.
A criminal case has been initiated for violations of the laws and customs of war (Article 438, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation is underway.
