The activity of Russian infantry groups near the border has significantly decreased due to a shortage of manpower.
This was stated on a TV broadcast by Andriy Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service.
“In the areas where the units of the State Border Guard Service are located, unfortunately, the Russian forces do not abandon their tactics. Using small assault groups, the Russian forces try to cross the Ukrainian border to expand the combat zone. However, recently the number of such attempts has decreased,” Demchenko said.
He emphasized that Ukrainian defenders effectively counter the Russian forces in this direction, not allowing them to achieve their objectives. In particular, border units continuously destroy Russian infantry groups.
“The Russian forces are suffering losses — dozens killed and wounded. At first, we observed that the Russian forces practically did not care about their losses. But now their activity has significantly decreased, probably due to a shortage of manpower. I would also note that the use of quad bikes and motor vehicles by these Russian groups has declined,” he added.
