The European Union has agreed to more than quadruple its expenditures for the training of Ukrainian soldiers in the fight against Russia, investing over 200 million euros. This information was reported by AFP.
"The 27-nation bloc has so far trained 34,000 Ukrainian personnel for the front line as Kyiv seeks to fight back Russia's invading forces," the media notes.
Previously, 61 million euros were allocated for these purposes from the European Peace Fund.
Now, the EU countries have decided to increase this amount to 255 million euros, as announced by the European Commission. The number of those who undergo training is expected to rise to 40,000 in the near future.
