The export of goods from the Odessa region has increased by 11%, exceeding imports

The Odessa region ranks fifth in imports and seventh in exports of goods.

According to the Main Statistical Office in the Odesa region, between January and October 2024, enterprises in Odessa conducted foreign trade operations with partners from 165 countries.

During this period, exports amounted to $1.6 billion, while imports totaled $2.3 billion.

Compared to January-October 2023, exports increased by 11.2%, and imports rose by 23.2%.

The main exports were plant-based products, making up 47.8% of total exports, including cereals (32.3%) and seeds and fruits of oilseeds (9.8%). Fats and oils of animal or plant origin accounted for 27.1%.

The largest export supplies were to Turkey (12.1%), Spain (8.4%), and Italy (7.5%).

Exports to EU countries amounted to $663.6 million, or 42.2% of the total.

Imports mostly consisted of mineral fuels, oil and its distillation products, and electrical machines from China (35.7%), Greece (13.0%), and Turkey (9.3%).

Imports from EU countries amounted to $787.0 million, or 34.0% of the total.
