The signing of the joint declaration will accelerate the restoration of peace and security in the European region.

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denys Monastyrsky, together with his colleagues, visited the settlements of the Kyiv region, which were subjected to large-scale shelling and military terror by the Russian invaders - Irpin, Dmytrivka, and Gostomel.

Following the working meeting, the Ministers of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Republic of Estonia, the Republic of Latvia, the Republic of Lithuania and the Republic of Poland jointly declared their desire to intensify and develop cooperation, in particular by:

• strengthening efforts in the fight against cross-border crime, in particular, the organization of illegal smuggling of people across the state border, the fight against trafficking of human beings;
• strengthening protection against criminal encroachments of citizens of Ukraine who have been forced to leave the territory of Ukraine and are temporarily on the territory of the Member States of the European Union;
• assistance in rebuilding the war-damaged infrastructure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine;
• providing assistance to address the priority needs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs bodies in repelling the Russian Federation's armed aggression and exchanging experience in the areas of competence of the relevant Ministries.

Denis Monastyrsky expressed his gratitude to his colleagues, who were the first to come to support Ukraine.

"Thank you for your courage, not only because you came to us but also for helping Ukraine in this difficult time. The struggle continues, we have great challenges ahead, which are related to the continuation and end of this terrible war, as well as the elimination of its consequences," said the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

The joint declaration of the ministers envisages cooperation in speeding up the investigation of war crimes committed by Russian servicemen in Ukraine. There is also an opportunity to help our services and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which cooperate directly with above mentioned countries and other countries of the European Union. In addition, assistance in humanitarian demining.

"We understand that the demining of Ukraine will take years. Speed ​​is a key here. Because now, the weather and the season, unfortunately, complicate this process. And if we lose this time, we will lose the opportunity to find explosive devices, which, unfortunately, will bring grief to Ukrainians for a long time."

The parties agreed to help create the necessary conditions for intensifying cooperation in other areas of mutual interest.
