On the day of September 6th, the Russian occupying army struck Konstantinovka in the Donetsk region. As of September 7th, it is known that 16 people have died, and 33 have been injured, reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
"According to updated information, the number of casualties from the strike on Konstantinovka is 16 people. This was determined after examining the bodies. The number of injured individuals is 33," noted the department.
Earlier reports indicated 17 fatalities and 32 injuries.
According to law enforcement officials, the bodies of almost all the deceased have been identified.
"We have not yet identified the body of one man. Therefore, we call on people whose relatives and acquaintances may have been in the area of the enemy's strike to contact the National Police units," the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated.
The Office of the Prosecutor General confirmed the shelling of the center of Konstantinovka on September 6th. They confirmed a strike on the market in the city center and stated that a fire had occurred in the market pavilions. As of 6:00 PM, the search and rescue operation was completed.
Furthermore, according to preliminary data, the Russians damaged 20 shops, power lines, an administrative building, and a 5-story residential building. Several cars and 8 commercial establishments were completely destroyed by fire.
According to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Igor Klymenko, among the injured is also a rescuer. Additionally, firefighters have successfully extinguished a fire covering an area of 300 square meters. Approximately 30 commercial pavilions have been damaged as well.
