Russian deputy from the Yabloko party of the Smolninskoye municipal district in St. Petersburg, Nikita Yuferev, appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to end the war in Ukraine. Two weeks later, the Kremlin replied that they had considered his proposal.
The Russian politician wrote about this on his Twitter page.
In his letter to Putin dated August 3rd, Nikita Yuferev stated that Russian bombs are falling on cities, and people are losing their jobs, homes, their lives and the lives of their loved ones. In addition, in an address to the Russian president, the deputy mentioned that more than 6 million citizens left Ukraine because of the invasion and stated that hostilities must be stopped.
âIt is in your power to stop the bloodshed. I ask you to order the end of a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine,â he wrote to the Russian leader.
On August 16, Yuferev received a short answer from the Kremlin. The Office of the President of the Russian Federation for Work with Appeals of Citizens and Organizations stated that they had considered the proposal of the deputy and reported that a "special military operation for demilitarization and denazification" was being carried out on the territory of Ukraine.
