Russia and Belarus plan to create three training centers for joint military preparation.
This was announced by the head of the permanent commission on national security of the Belarusian House of Representatives, Henadiy Lepeshko, as reported by BelTA.
According to him, a training center will be established in the Grodno region of Belarus, while in Russia, centers will be located in the Nizhny Novgorod and Kaliningrad regions. Currently, personnel are being trained at military educational institutions in both Belarus and Russia.
Lepeshko also reminded that in 2023, the implementation of three allied defense programs began, one of which is focused on strengthening border security, while the other two aim to improve the infrastructure of Belarus and Russia to support the regional military grouping.
Furthermore, according to him, the countries signed "over 160 agreements on joint military activities" in 2025.
The head of the House of Representatives noted that the Belarusian and Russian air forces periodically conduct "joint air patrols of the air borders of the union state in the airspace of Belarus."
He added that this is "extremely important, as American strategic and tactical aviation has long been flying in the airspace of Poland and the Baltic States near the border of the union state."
At the same time, Lepeshko claimed that all joint exercises with Russia are "exclusively defensive in nature."
