The law enforcement officers documented the war crimes of the Kadyrovites
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announced that it had collected "indisputable evidence of war crimes" on the part of the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, and two of his subordinates, Daniil Martynov and Huseyn Mezhidov, the agency said in a statement. Martynov, a former special forces officer of the FSB, is now responsible for the training of Kadyrov's personal security.
Evidence was obtained of the involvement of the head of the Chechen Republic in committing crimes. It was established that he organized the invasion of the territory of Ukraine by a number of units that he controlled. We are talking about the unit of the North Caucasian District of the Russian National Guard, the Federal Service of the Russian National Guard in the Chechen Republic, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the Chechen Republic.
In addition, in the videos they publicly justify the Russian Federation's armed aggression against Ukraine and express threats of violence against the Ukrainian people.
Based on the collected evidence, the head of the Chechen Republic was declared suspect under Part 3 of Art. 436-2 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants), Part 3 of Art. 110 (encroachment on Ukraine's territorial integrity and inviolability) and Part 2 of Art. 437 (planning, preparation, initiation and waging of an aggressive war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The SBU suspects Ramzan Kadyrov under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: "waging an aggressive war", "deliberate actions to change the borders of the territory of Ukraine in violation of the procedure established by the Constitution of Ukraine, which led to the death of people and other grave consequences", as well as "recognition lawful armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
The SBU claims that on March 5, Martynov personally led the seizure of the Borodyanka (Kyiv region) psycho-neurological boarding school with a geriatric department. By his order, more than 500 people were taken hostage: patients and staff of the dispensary, and local residents. The approaches to the boarding school were mined, and its building became a firing position for the Russian military.
It was established that at the beginning of March, armed Kadyrovites broke into the institution and threatened the people who were there with the massacre. The military broke down the door in the boarding school director's office and illegally detained her, demanding cooperation with the occupiers. In addition, the Kadyrov people took hostage almost 500 people - patients and staff of the boarding school. They ordered all patients to be taken out of the wards and lined up in the yard. They pointed machine guns at the doctors and demanded that everyone smile and say to the camera: "Thank you, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin." Most of the patients were crying. The approaches to the building were mined.
Covering themselves with people as human shields, the invaders shelled Kyiv, Irpen, Bucha, and other populated areas of the Kyiv region from the "Grad" volley fire artillery installations.
On the orders of Hussein Mezhidov, according to the SBU, from February 25 to March 13, servicemen of his tactical group took hostage about two hundred residents of Gostomel, who were kept in the basements of high-rise buildings all this time.
Martynov and Mezhidov are accused by the SBU under the article "violation of the laws and customs of war, cruel treatment of prisoners of war or civilians" of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The investigation is ongoing to establish other crimes committed by those involved during the military aggression against Ukraine. The GSU SBU investigates under the procedural guidance of the Office of the General Prosecutor of Ukraine.
Ramzan Kadyrov responded to the accusations of the SBU by posting two audio messages on his Telegram channel. In the first, he admitted that he "participated, is participating and will continue to participate in a special operation" in Ukraine and did not deny the charges against him. Kadyrov also promised to "come and sort things out" in Ukraine.
In the second audio message, he clarified that Martynov no longer works in the department of the Russian Guard in the Chechen Republic. He also acknowledged Mezhidov's involvement in the war in Ukraine, saying that he "protected the elderly and women."
