The military counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has detained another FSB agent in Odessa. The agent, a local realtor, was found to have been spying on the Defense Forces and coordinating air attacks on the city.

On March 15 of this year, he reported to the Russian intelligence agency on the aftermath of a double Iskander strike on the regional center. The Russian forces had attacked the civilian infrastructure of the port city with ballistic missiles.

When rescuers, National Police officers, and medics arrived at the strike site, the Russians hit them with a second missile. Immediately after, the FSB agent arrived at the scene, conducted further reconnaissance, and provided the Russian forces with information on the damaged targets and the estimated number of casualties.

The agent had maintained contact with the Russian intelligence agency through an acquaintance, a participant in Russian occupation groups who had taken part in the capture of Mariupol and Bakhmut. The militant then passed the intelligence to his brother, who is part of an FSB unit stationed in the occupied part of Donetsk region.

Following the information leak about the double missile strike on Odessa, the traitor continued to fulfill tasks related to correcting the fire. The Russia's priority targets included the temporary bases of the Defense Forces in the regional center. The realtor used connections among his clients to gather intelligence in secrecy.

During the special operation, the SSU documented the crimes of the detainee and arrested him as he was preparing to pass new intelligence to the aggressor. Additionally, during the investigation, the Security Service uncovered facts of the FSB agent's information-subversive activities, including provocative comments on YouTube spreading fake news about Ukrainian defenders and justifying the war crimes of the Russians.

During the search of the detainee’s premises, mobile phones and laptops with evidence of his crimes were confiscated. The SSU has informed him of suspicions under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The offender is in custody and faces life imprisonment with asset confiscation.
