There is a threat of complete extinction of the Sea of Azov
The Azovstal bombing could damage a technical facility that holds back tens of thousands of tons of concentrated hydrogen sulfide solution.
The Mariupol City Council reported this.
Leakage of this fluid will completely kill flora and fauna of the Sea of Azov. Then dangerous substances can get into the Black and Mediterranean Seas. According to the mayor of Mariupol Vadym Boychenko, immediate admission to the site of international experts and the UN is needed to study the situation and prevent a world-class environmental catastrophe.
It will be recalled that Mariupol, which is 95% destroyed, is currently on the verge of epidemic and environmental disasters. The amount of food and drinking water is limited. Infectious diseases, including cholera, may spread through the destroyed water supply system.
