This year, the countries of the international 'Drone Coalition' will allocate 1.8 billion euros to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
This was announced by Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov.
According to the minister, Latvia, which, together with the United Kingdom, leads the "drone coalition," informed about the decision.
"This decision will allow Ukraine to strengthen its technological advantage on the battlefield and more effectively destroy the enemy," the minister said.
He reminded that on October 31, the first meeting of the coalition's leadership group took place in Riga, uniting 17 countries: Australia, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Estonia, Italy, Canada, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Germany, New Zealand, Poland, France, the Czech Republic, Sweden, and Ukraine.
In particular, Latvia will allocate 20 million euros this year to the "drone coalition," with at least 10 million to be spent on domestic purchases, and 5 million on joint purchases within the coalition.
Also, Ukraine signed an agreement with Latvian partners to train Ukrainian soldiers in drone piloting.
