Ukraine and China signed an intergovernmental agreement providing for the expansion of cooperation between the two countries and the promotion of joint projects in the field of infrastructure construction, as well as the involvement of Ukraine funds on preferential terms from the People's Republic of China (PRC).
As reported by the website of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine on Tuesday, June 30, the mentioned agreement was signed by Minister of Infrastructure Alexander Kubrakov and Minister of Commerce of the PRC Wang Wentao.
Among the priorities of cooperation are railway transit, airports, ports, communications and municipal engineering construction. According to the agreement, Ukraine and China will encourage companies and financial institutions of both countries to actively cooperate in the construction of infrastructure facilities, as well as contribute to the establishment of closer economic ties between the two countries and provide the necessary assistance and support in the implementation of joint projects.
The agreement also provides for the attraction of funds on preferential terms from the government of the People's Republic of China, necessary for the implementation of infrastructure projects. As a result of joint consultations, the parties will approve potential cooperation projects that will be supported by PRC funds.
Among the priorities of the cooperation: railways (train connection Guangzhou-Odessa), military technologies (Motor Sich), trade (agriculture export to China), infrastructure investment in ports (Nikolaiev, Odessa) and vaccine support.
