Ukraine and Denmark have agreed to introduce a fast-track mechanism for investments, which will help businesses overcome market barriers more quickly and improve the business climate.

The relevant Memorandum of Understanding between the governments of the two countries was signed during the Denmark-Ukraine Business Forum on November 25 in Kyiv. From the Ukrainian side, the document was signed by First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko, and from the Danish side, by Minister for Business and Industry of Denmark, Morten Bødskov.

"Ukraine needs to increase private investment for the rapid recovery of our economy. We are working to strengthen ties between Danish and Ukrainian companies and improve the business conditions in the country. Today, we signed a memorandum that introduces the Fast-Track Mechanism between the governments of our countries, which will act as a single entry point for overcoming the barriers faced by Danish companies and investors in Ukraine," emphasized Yulia Svyrydenko.

Representatives of the governments of Denmark and Ukraine will hold regular meetings with Danish companies operating in Ukraine, where they will be able to share the difficulties they encounter when investing and doing business. Additionally, the parties will establish ongoing communication between the governments of both countries to address urgent issues.

"The government of Denmark and Danish businesses stand shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine. Starting a business in your country right now is not easy, but Danish companies are eager to do it. We must support them in this effort. That is why, together with First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko, we signed an agreement to assist Danish businesses participating in Ukraine’s reconstruction. Danish companies are ready to take on great responsibility and share their knowledge and experience in many areas—from green energy and new technologies to strengthening critical infrastructure. This is another example of effective cooperation between our countries," stated Morten Bødskov, Minister for Business and Industry of Denmark.

This memorandum is a continuation of the memorandum signed between the governments of Ukraine and Denmark in April 2024. It included new funding of about 40 million euros for the Danish Investment Fund EIFO to promote new investments in Ukraine’s economy. Under this document, for the support of critical infrastructure using renewable energy, the Danish government allocated additional funding of approximately 380 million euros to the Ukrainian EIFO mechanism.

During her speech, Yulia Svyrydenko thanked the Danish businesses that continue not only to operate in Ukraine during the war but also to invest in modernization and expanding production. The signing of the memorandum took place during the Ukraine-Denmark Business Forum, which was attended by around a hundred representatives from Ukrainian and Danish businesses.

The forum’s goal is to deepen cooperation between the private sectors of both countries, promote the localization of Danish production in Ukraine, create joint ventures, and attract investments.

The prospects for such cooperation are mutually beneficial for both countries, as Ukraine's integration into the EU internal market creates many opportunities for Danish companies looking to scale their businesses.
