During a meeting, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi and Federal Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Mohammad Mahmood Abubakar discussed ways of practical implementation of humanitarian food aid within the framework of the Grain from Ukraine initiative.
The parties voiced their vision of cooperation at all stages of implementation of the humanitarian mission. In particular, they discussed opportunities for transportation of goods and available crop types for supply.
The Ministers agreed to work out in more detail the information that would ensure effective implementation of the Grain from Ukraine initiative and return to its consideration in the near future.
As a reminder, the core of the humanitarian food program is the purchase by partner countries of Ukrainian agricultural products and their delivery to the countries of Africa and Asia that are on the verge of hunger.
The program has already started working. The first ships are already delivering food. Also, negotiations on the purchase and supply of wheat grain have been launched in the framework of the initiative.
