The digital driving license and technical passport in Diia will soon be displayed in the Polish mObywatel application, thanks to the cross-state sharing service. This became known during a joint briefing of the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov and the State Secretary for Digitalization of Poland Janusz Cieszynski.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukrainians have been able to access the Diia pl digital ID at mObywatel. At the end of July, Diia pl acquired the official status of a digital residence permit. Cross-state document sharing is not only the next step in the development of digital relations between Ukraine and Poland but also the international recognition of electronic documents in Diia.

"Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Poland has been actively supporting and helping Ukrainians. The cooperation we have now is a high standard of good neighborly relations. The launch of cross-state document sharing confirms this. And at the same time, it becomes a historic event for the digitalization process worldwide, as it is the first case in the EU when two countries exchange documents in government applications. For its part, the Ministry of Digitization is ready to start work on recognizing e-documents from mObywatel in Ukraine," said the Deputy Prime Minister.

Janusz Ceszynski added that the sharing functionality is already ready and the legislative issues remain to be resolved. According to him, the service will be operational by the end of the year.

"We understand that modern society cannot function without a digital environment. The success achieved by the Diia ecosystem is awe-inspiring. Therefore, we decided to introduce these mechanisms for Ukrainians currently in Poland. In addition, it will help our close cooperation in the future because it will definitely be digital," Ceszynski emphasized.

Mykhailo Fedorov also thanked Janusz Ceszynski for the new Starlink terminals that arrived in Ukraine last week. 5,000 new terminals will help Ukrainians stay connected, and critical infrastructure facilities will be able to work even in the most challenging conditions. With this batch, the number of Starlink terminals in Ukraine approached 20,000.
