During the “BRAVE1 components” conference, Minister of Defense Denys Shmyhal announced the launch of a special grant programme for Ukrainian manufacturers of unmanned systems components.

According to him, the Ministry of Defense has already codified more than 250 types of drone components. Among them, the largest share consists of autopilot and munitions control systems, communication and control system elements. Power supply components, launch and landing equipment, individual body parts, and other elements are also being codified.

“It is critically important to supply our domestic defense industry with components specifically from Ukrainian manufacturers. From now on, the components market becomes one of the key priorities of the Brave1 defense cluster,” emphasized Denys Shmyhal.

He added that other support tools currently in operation include:

  • The “Components Library” project — a digital platform where Ukrainian UAV, UGV, and EW/ECM manufacturers can find component producers and establish partnerships. The library already has 230 registered users and features more than 150 product items.
  • The grant programme “Made for Victory,” aimed at supporting enterprises that produce components for weapons and military equipment.
  • A preferential lending programme to scale critically important defense industry enterprises. Ukrainian companies have received loans totaling UAH 5 billion.

“At the beginning of the invasion, we opened the markets for UAVs, UGVs, EW, and other innovative weapons in Ukraine. Now, the rapid development of these markets is creating demand for Ukrainian components for these technologies. That’s why we are launching a new initiative to support component manufacturers within Brave1. Our strategic goal is to achieve independence in the production of key components, and eventually, Ukraine has every chance to become a component base for the civilized world,” said First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

The combined support tools for manufacturers are designed to produce results that the enemy will feel on the battlefield, Denys Shmyhal stated.

“Developing Ukraine’s component base matters not only for Ukraine. It is important for the entire free world. I invited foreign companies to invest in Ukraine, establish joint production, and conduct R&D. The development of Ukrainian components is an investment in our shared security,” he concluded.
