Ukraine intercepted 14.5 times more air targets in May than the United States and its allies in the Middle East.
This was reported by the company Andromeda Group, which specializes in humanitarian demining and robotic systems.
As noted, the company analyzed official press releases from the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the Ukrainian Air Force for May 2026.
According to the analysis,
The total number of missiles and UAVs launched from Iranian territory against the US and its allies in May 2026 is:
- Ballistic missiles: 38 units, 20 intercepted.
- Cruise missiles: 15 units, 8 intercepted.
- Attack UAVs (Shahed-type): over 310 units, 249 destroyed.
In total, in May Iran attacked the US and its allies with 363 aerial targets, of which 277 were destroyed.
During the same period in May 2026, the Armed Forces of Ukraine were repelling Russian air attacks. According to press releases from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the following were launched against Ukraine:
- 65 ballistic and aeroballistic missiles (Kh-47M2 “Kinzhal” and Iskander-M/KN-23), 13 destroyed.
- 120 cruise missiles (Kh-101, Kalibr, Iskander-K, Kh-59/69), 99 destroyed.
- 5,100 Shahed-type attack UAVs, 5,053 destroyed.
In May, Russia attacked Ukraine with 5,285 aerial targets, of which 5,165 were destroyed.
Thus, according to the company’s calculations, Ukraine intercepted 14.5 times more aerial targets in a month than the United States and its allies in the Middle East.
The company clarified that, in its analysis, it excluded cases of double counting of targets shot down by U.S. forces and allies. It also did not include reconnaissance drones and guided aerial bombs destroyed by Ukraine.
