Kyiv has extended an invitation to the United Nations (UN) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to visit the areas in the Kursk region occupied by Ukrainian forces. This was announced by Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.

"Yesterday, while on a visit to our warriors in the Sumy region, I instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to officially invite the UN and ICRC to join humanitarian efforts in the Kursk region. Ukraine is ready to facilitate their work and prove its adherence to international humanitarian law," Sybiha stated on his X social media page.

According to Sybiha, since the beginning of the invasion, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have shown complete adherence to international humanitarian law as a professional army with high standards.

In response, the Kremlin has labeled Kyiv's invitation to UN and Red Cross representatives to the occupied areas of the Kursk region as a provocation.
